The Iowa Division of Workers' Compensation (DWC) requires electronic filing (eFiling) on the Workers' Compensation Electronic System (WCES).
Under new administrative rules that govern eFiling on WCES, parties must eFile on WCEs a hearing report in Microsfot Word at least 14 days before hearing.
The DWC created a hearing report form in Microsoft Word format for parties to use.
Changes to the Form
Before eFiling on WCES, parties could attach an itemized list of costs and medical expenses to the hearing report if such were at issue in the case. But parties can't eFile PDF docs on WCES as attachments to a Microsoft Word doc such as the hearing report. Therefore, the DWC has revised the hearing report form in Microsoft Word format so that it makes references to exhibits instead of attachments.
At least 14 days before hearing, parties must:
- Jointly complete the hearing report form in Microsoft Word format
- eFile the hearing report in Micorsoft Word form on WCES
- eFile exhibits on WCES, including but not limited to any written evidence relating to any medical expenses or costs of which a party is seeking payment
- Serve on all other parties the proposed exhibits eFiled on WCES, as required under the order of the Iowa Workers' Compensation Commissioner, In Re Proposed Exhibits Filed Under 876 Iowa Administrative Code 4.19(3)(d)
